The alarm clock volume is the same as the ringer volume.
This should NOT be.
I had the ringer turned down last via the volume buttons on the side. Thankfully, I woke up on my own initiative just before the alarm went of. A few minutes later… a faint buzzing on the nightstand. That’s it. At least now I know I can’t rely on it’s alarm for mission critical wake ups. Here’s to hoping this is a bug, not a a “feature”

Could you switch the ringer to silent and turn the alarm volume all-the-way up? I don’t have an iPhone but I messed with one yesterday and it’s awesome.
Going to try that now.
update: The alarm does sound if the “volume” is up, and the ringer/silent switch is flipped to “silent”. That’s good at least.
No… that’s NOT good! When my phone is on silent, it should be SILENT! Flipping the switch to silent mode should stop all sounds. I’ve been in late meetings a few times now where a reminder alarm I’ve set has gone off even though the phone itself was in silent mode. I’ve basically had to remove all reminder alarms from the phone so that it doesn’t erupt into sound at some inopportune time when a reminder (which means I set it because I thought I MIGHT forget about it) goes off – I’d love it if there were separate volumes for alarm and ringer, but there should be a no sound mode that stops ALL sounds from the phone. THAT’S my number one annoyance.
If you put it like that— I think I agree. The reminders a nice thing to have, but it’s not something I can rely on to wake me up in the morning.
